Car Seat Inspections Offered in Kirwan Heights

The Kirwan Heights Fire and EMS Department is a registered Safe Kids Worldwide Child Restraint Inspection Station. From 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. daily, a certified individual is available to offer inspection, installation, and training on the proper use of infant/child car and booster seats. Our Lady of Grace Dinner Auction

Our Lady of Grace School in Scott Township invites all to attend their ninth annual Dinner Auction on Saturday, March 8, at the Hilton Garden Inn at Southpointe. “Grace Travels Coast to Coast” includes live, silent, and Chinese auctions, as well as dinner and dancing. Presto Fire Department–Night at the Races

Presto Fire Department–Fish Fries

The Presto Fire Department will be holding the second of its annual Fish Fries. Eat in or take out. Shrimp or hand-breaded fish, with a side of French fries, fresh cole slaw or home made mac-n-cheese. New for 2008: Homemade cabbage and noodles; pan-cooked fish–while they last! Chicken nuggets for kids and senior portions.

Hickory Wintery Golf Event

The Rotary Club of Bridgeville will host its annual golf outing, the Wintery Golf Classic, which will take place at the Hickory Heights Golf Club. This will mark the 21st year that scores of golfers come out for the chilly charity event. The fundraiser brings in approximately $20,000 and helps benefit the Rotary’s charitable activities throughout the year. The group supports numerous charities and non-profits in the community, including the Bridgeville Area Food Bank, Meals on Wheels and the YMCA. The group also provides annual scholarships to graduating seniors at South Fayette and Chartiers Valley. For more information on the Tournament or to register, please call Tom Takach 412-257-3550.

Bridgeville Athletic Association Bingo and Baseball

The Bridgeville Athletic Association will be hosting a Bingo on Sunday, March 16, at the Bridgeville Volunteer Fire Department. Doors are tentatively scheduled to open at noon. The last day for baseball/softball registration for Bridgeville was on February 16, but late registration will be accepted ($20.00 late fee.)

Ride On for Autism

A very worthy organization, Autism Speaks©, will benefit from the proceeds from its Ride On for Autism Motorcycle Run, which takes place on Sunday, April 27. The ride starts and ends at the Bridgeville Fire Hall. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m., with coffee and donuts; after the trip, riders return to the fire hall to enjoy lunch, music, door prizes, a silent auction, and a 50/50 raffle. Fees: $20.00/bike; $10.00/rider; lunch only: $10.00/adult, $8.00/student, $5.00/child. Tee-shirts: $6.00. Please preregister.
