New Beginnings

Publishers Mary Catherine McKee (l) and Marcie Sprecher (r).

We proudly present the premiere issue of Chartiers Valley Magazine, created to provide you with your own unique magazine. Whether you are new to the area or a life-long resident, there is always more to learn about your community, the local events, the varied personalities of local residents and school activities. As a resident or business in our coverage area – Collier Township, Scott Township, Heidelberg, Bridgeville, and some surrounding communities–you will receive a copy of Chartiers Valley Magazine free-of-charge every other month.

After talking to your township commissioners, conducting a few informal surveys and doing some intense planning, we have produced the first issue of Chartiers Valley Magazine. You’ll find Chartiers Valley Magazine packed with news, features, highlights and detailed listings on the people and the events that make this area so special. In the preparation of this publication, we had more help than we can publicly acknowledge, except to say how deeply appreciative we are of the support and encouragement we received from the community, Chartiers Valley School District, and township and borough officials.

o give you a taste of why you’ll want to read this magazine cover-to-cover, just turn to our exclusive story about the latest trends on pampering your pet (or someone else’s). You’d better watch your back before reading a word about our visit to the Scream Asylum – may be the best haunted house in our area. And we’re betting you’ll feel a special pride when you glimpse life’s greatest little miracles every time they take place in St. Clair Hospital’s Family Birth Center.

Launching this new magazine has been rewarding, and along the way we have been fortunate to meet so many individuals who have helped to shape the area and position it for strong growth and future stability. We have also enjoyed the school assemblies to unveil the exciting news that Ben Roethlisberger will be coming to Chartiers Valley School District in April, 2007. As we told the students, Big Ben will be on the cover of the magazine in December, and they will most likely see their friends, teachers, and neighbors on the pages of this magazine in forthcoming issues.

This is your magazine and we welcome your ideas to make it even more informative and useful. Please let us know what you think!
