With spring comes a sense of renewal. As we recharge our batteries, we realize how important it is review our relationships with the institutions that help to make our townships so vibrant.
For example, when school’s in session, as a township we don’t always notice the things the students are doing unless the school announces it is holding a public demonstration. CVHS recently gave us a public performance of “Sweet Charity.” It was so moving the tissues came out in great clouds. There was laughing and crying and a lot of audience participation. But what of all the other activities students become involved in that we never hear about? Well, your magazine, Chartiers Valley, is there to help. As you will see in this issue, we are covering all the events and news that have recently taken place at CV schools. By doing this, parents and residents can remain informed about student activities and realize that our childrens’ achievements are worthy of our pride.
By the same token, we can stay on top of the township’s agenda, since in this same issue we are publishing full details of township activities, board meetings and a detailed message from the Chartiers Valley superintendent. The message is simple. An informed resident makes for an informed citizen. When you know what’s going on, you can make sensible judgements about the way your township is being managed.
